Why we exist
For people with hyperacusis, ordinary sounds such as cutlery, traffic or a busy office can feel overwhelming or even painful. Many never get a diagnosis, and specialist help is often far away or has long waiting lists. In England, for example, 124,667 people were waiting for an audiology assessment at the end of July 2026, and 41.5% of them had already waited six weeks or more (NHS England). Hearing professionals also report long waits for talking therapies such as CBT (Tinnitus UK). We want good, evidence-based help to be easier to reach. Read more in our guide to online hyperacusis treatment.
What we are building
Attune is an online programme that brings together the approaches specialists use: gradual sound therapy, short lessons about how sound sensitivity works, cognitive behavioural techniques, and regular video check-ins with audiologists and CBT-trained therapists. You can read more about how it works on the home page.
Where we are now
Attune has not launched yet. You can join the waitlist to hear when the programme opens. In the meantime, our guides explain hyperacusis, its treatment and everyday life with sound sensitivity, based on trusted medical sources.
What Attune is not
Attune does not replace medical care. See a doctor if you have ear pain, sudden changes in your hearing, hearing loss or dizziness. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
